Last plug-in update (v2.21 beta as far as I know) still works though. The webpage shows only some older activity. When you earn money with it you definitely should buy your tools. Although I do understand why beginners and amateur producers first want to try something properly (without limitations). A company has to be paid for the work it delivers. Which 'sounds' more than reasonable to me. This resulted in frustration, a lack of motivation to proceed and maybe some communication issues. I've once read an article on kvraudio that the developer wasn't happy with the illegal scene and in particularly the huge spread of his digital synthesizer. Lower mix B and you can still use this velocity feature without overwhelming your sound with unwanted noise. For example: make osc1+2 your main sound and put the noise on osc3 or 4. Let's say you want to use 1 oscillator with just a tiny amount of noise to accentuate the top line of a sound use the mix A / mix B controls to compensate. Unfortunately, this could result in a problem.
You can also select filter cutoff and resonance in both slots to achieve a similar effect. Turn the knob with the desirable amount to the right and there you go. After that, go to misc1 or misc2, choose the source (which is velocity) and select in the first slot volume (A or B or AB, depends on which oscillators you're using). First turn down the volume knob of each oscillator (important). How could that happen? Well, this is what you have to do: select the associated parameters inside Sylenth1. When you draw a different amount of velocity in your notes, this won't have any effect on the volume. It took a while before I figured this one out. And last but not least: it's fully controllable by MIDI. Even percussion and kicks can do the job (with proper mixing from 3rd party plug-ins though). So if you want to built a track with chords, stabs, plucks, keys, organs, pads, strings, risers, fx, leads and basses with the same instrument don't hesitate to open as many Sylenth1's you'll need.

It uses highly optimized code and SSE instructions in order to reduce the CPU usage to a minimum. For example: assign the modulation wheel to the filter cutoff / resonance and make your melody rise and shine at the climax or dark and atmospheric in a break. Especially the last one could be very useful if you want to have automated control over a layered sound with several plug-ins. Next to that, it's possible to use the extra 2 amplitude envelopes, velocity, keyboard track or modulation wheel as a source for modulation. There are 2 ADSR envelopes and 2 LFO's which can be used to modulate a whole set of different parameters. Sylenth1 offers many modulation options to sculpture the sound any way you like. Don't underestimate the power of built-in effects. But the ones inside the plug-in are really a good starting point. Although I must admit: a lot of producers prefer 3rd party effects. I've already mentioned the master effects so now you know where to find them. There are 2 modes of portamento sliding and a sync button for syncing LFO and delay parameters to host tempo. Blend it all together for a big raw scream aaaah!Ī little bit of this and a little bit of that. A filter drive knob controls the analog emulation of overdrive in each filter stage. Selectable low pass, band pass and high pass modes with 12dB or 24dB attenuation. "Just push it to the limit!"įor a warm and delicious taste: the filters. Want to make a big mainroom house lead which sounds extraordinary? No problem. With 16 notes of polyphony you can play up to 512 voices simultaneously. The difference between them: a Square wave consists duty cycle of 50% while a Pulse can hold any random duty cycle whether it may be 40%, 60%, 80% or whatever. For the people who didn't recognize a Square: in Sylenth1 it's a Pulse. You can also choose between 8 different waveforms: Saw, Pulse, HPulse, QPulse, Triangle, Sine, Noise and TriSaw.

It has 4 band limited unison oscillators in full stereo, each of which can generate 8 voices per note.
Into the kitchen, first ingredients: the oscillators. Maybe you aren't satisfied (anymore) with the standard - a little bit outdated - skin? Just try another modern one to give it a fresh look. Therefore you'll find all the master effects like arpeggiator, distortion, phaser, chorus/flanger, equalizer, delay, reverb and compressor in the heart of the plug-in. And guess what? It does! Creativity goes beyond imagination when making music and Sylenth1 delivers all the elements you'll need.
